Asia held a U.N.-sponsored confab in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Asian African Summit, to
discuss how to achieve a “new world order".
May 5 up:
Tony Blair was reelected in Great Britain.
May 10: The U.S. Senate passed real ID Act, which fundamentally turns all
state drivers license into national ID cards effective May 10, 2008, by
incorporating federally accepted "unique identifiers” into them, according
to its creator, James Sensenbrenner, the purchase of real IDs is “solving
illegal immigration" and "preventing terrorist from entering the
country", although those of us with memories recall how an effort to give
every American a national ID card was a stealth measure buried in one of the
omnibus bills of the middle 1990s, signed by Bill Clinton and scheduled to go
into effect in Nov. of 2000. (See Clary Wolf's classic essay “Land Mine
Legislation" for the details. The
measure was beaten back by a grass-roots campaign. This is a post 91one world, however. Arguably, unless the real-ID act is
overturned by some future act of Congress, the U.S. will officially become a full
fledged police state on May 10, 2008. May 11, Iran announced its intention to resume
its suspended nuclear program, insisting that the program is for civilian
power. U.S. leaders maintain that the program
is a covert attempt to create nuclear weapons, a view shared by Israel in Europe.
May 17: The Council on Foreign Relations Task Force on the future of
North America released a statement in connection with the C-F-R's just
published, Building a North American Community report calling for establishing
“a blue-print for a powerhouse North American trading area that allows for the
seamless movement of goods, increased labor mobility and energy security”,
(emphasis in original). Is there any
wonder that the B-us-h administration does nothing about illegal immigration? If North America becomes one big
country under globocrat rule, then the problems
"solved" by fiat. The above statement
continues, "We are asking the leaders of the United States, Mexico and
Canada to be bold and adopt a vision of the future that is bigger than, and
beyond, the immediate problems of the present.
They could be the architects of a new committee of North America not mere custodians and of the
status quo" one specific goal: a common border by 2010. May 25: North Korea threatened a pre-emptive nuclear
strike against the US. May 29: French voters said
"no" to the European Union constitution. Jun 1: The Dutch also said
"no" to the EU Constitution. The power elites of Europe have proceeded in implementing key
provisions as if the no votes had happened.
June 23: The Supreme Court handed down its ruling in the Kelo vs. New London, Connecticut, that the taking clause in
the Constitution allows local governments to seize private property against the
will of its owners not just for public use, as in the traditional understanding
of the eminent domain, but for private economic development in those cases in
which the developer shows promise of being able to pay more taxes to the government.
There is our "living document" in action. The effects of this disastrous decision began
to reverberate around the country almost right away in the form of more
seizures and attempted seizures, as the wealthy developers, now with the full
backing of the state and local governments, essentially declare war on the
private property rights of the less well-off.
June 30th: The Senate passed the Central American free Trade
Agreement-NAFTA by a vote of 54-45. June
30: Iran's President-elect Mahmood Ahmadinejad proclaimed
"an Islamic revolution of global proportion". July 7: Train bombing
kill at least 38 people in London in a 50 minute period. Terrorist were blamed. July 21: a second
attack followed in London.
British politicians including Tony Blair called for increased police
powers. July 28 (shortly after midnight): The House of Representatives
passed CAFTA 217-215, the slimmest margin ever for a-ct
